Here is an easy to use and quick calculator to determine the soils nutrient demand based on a typical soil analysis profile.  This is only a quick, easy to use calculator, not a scientific tool.  The norms are based on South African Soil analysis norms and analysis techniques prescribed by AgriLASA.  Values are calculated against standard norms and is not crop specific.  The calculated values for nutrients not complying to these standard norms are expressed as red values, in contrast to the standard black vlaues.  Only type values into the Green fields, all other fields are locked.

Two calculators are available one in English (Soil Analysis) and one in Afrikaans (Grond Ontleding).  They work on exactely the same principle.

All phosphate values are based on the Bray 1 extraction tecnique.  Values from other extraction techniques can be converted by the following calculations to Bray 1 values : from Bray 2 multiply by 1.67; and from Olsen multiply by 0.67.  (These calculations are not exact but has close corelation).

Soon I will publish more calculators for foliar analysis, water analysis etc. to help all the readers to understand the basics of the mediums they work in.
